“I know the quote goes “when one door closes another opens.” But why didn’t anyone ever try opening the closed door?” -Lilly Singh
I feel like in the fashion industry, you have to talk your way to open the closed door. For me, that can be difficult & I like challenges that make me grow, make me think, & be the person that I must become. If it is a challenge, then it’s good, it does not mean impossible for me. I can overcome those roadblocks.
In the dance industry, it’s not just what you say, but what is on your resume & your talent as a dancer. In order to open the closed door, I feel like I would have to showcase my best effort, focus & passion to prove myself that I deserve whatever is keeping me behind that closed door.
In life, we have to unlock the closed doors that are blocking us from our true potential. In order to do so, we have to prove to ourselves that we are capable of SO much more than we think. We have to unleash that power and get out of that comfort zone to live life to the fullest.
This post is inspired by Lilly Singh’s book, “How to be a Bawse.” I am doing a #90DayChallenge for myself that presents what I have learned from her book.
